The Surya Engineering College is located in a rural area at Mettukadai, Kathirampatti (PO), Erode District, Tamil Nadu, India-638107. Our (2018–2023) batch students have completed their degree under Anna University, Chennai. We strive hard continuously, to achieve academic excellence in Science, Engineering, Technology, Management and Research. The College aims at producing the most competent Scientists, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Managers, and Researchers through objective and innovative teaching methods, by dedicated and duty conscious faculty. The process improvement involves continuous and consistent updating of facilities, welfare and quality improvement of the faculty.
The institution aims to enhance students’ skills in engineering, particularly in Science and Humanities, through an outreach program. The program raises awareness about individual skill sets, empowers them towards engineering, and provides certifications for job opportunities. It also instills technical ideas and empowers students to solve problems in engineering and life sciences.
OBJECTIVE OF PROGRAM:
The objective of the program is to encourage the school students towards specific interest in a particular field. Programme for the students to enhance their skill set is sought for the students to participate in the outreach program organized by our institution. The management provides us financial support for organizing these programs.
YEAR OF INITIATION:
Outreach programmes were arranged for students on important days. First we have the inauguration ceremony of this event. Each event of the morning session will start with lecturers. The lecturer area will be focused on Important National Leaders Birthday and other Important Days of this event. After the morning lecturer, a tea break is given for fifteen minutes. Following that, the Important National Leaders Birthday and other Important National Leaders Birthday and other important days are played by presenting a powerpoint presentation at the audio visual room. After lunch break, afternoon session starts with some mind – blowing games. Students attended the events and enthusiastic games. The program is curtailed after a formal valedictory function.
OUTCOME OF THE PROGRAM:
Feedback from students on each year’s event is collected and documented. Moreover the programmes organized in our college for the students of the upper primary classes were very informative and the program created an interest in life sciences especially in engineering. For the past five years, more than 100 individuals have benefited.
OUTREACH AS A CONTINUOUS PROCESS:
Till date, the program or event is organized and has made a great impact on the student especially for the upper primary classes who are basically from rural background. During the outreach program, the students are engaged with both humanities and life science. These events were prominent information for the students. Due to the celebration of these events the students will be aware of what are the other important days.
EVENTS CONDUCTED IN (2022-2023):
WORLD YOUTH DAY
On 12th August was the celebration of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir day. He is famous for being a “Trendsetter”. And, also his day was the celebration of the world’s youth day. During the celebration, our college conducted “National Leader Games Online” and fifteen students participated in this event. Finally, we provided the certificates and distributed the prizes for the winners.
On 14th November was the celebration of Jawaharlal Nehru Day. His day was celebrated as children’s day. Our college has distributed sweets for the students. Fifteen students participated in the “Hangman” event. Finally we provided the certificates and distributed the prizes for the winners.

LOVE AND HUMANITY DAY:
On 26th August, was the celebration of Mother Teresa Day. She was the founder of the Missionaries of Charity. Our college has conducted “Literary Quizes” on this special day. The lecturer focused on love and humanity. Finally we provided the certificates and distributed prizes for the winners. Totally ten students participated in this literary quiz.
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON – VOILENCE
On 2nd October was the celebration of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi day. His day was celebrated as International Day of Non-Violence Day’. We have conducted a “Word Ladder” game for the students. Ten students participated in this event and finally we distributed certificates and prizes for the winners.
EVENTS CONDUCTED IN (2020-2021):
On 17th September was the celebration of ‘Thanthai Periyar Day’. He was famous for the ‘Dravidian Movement’. The lecturer focused on the topic about Dravidian Cultures. On this day ‘4 pics word’ game was conducted for the students. Each student participated and finally we distributed the prizes for the winners.
COMPLETED WORKS OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDHA
On 12 January was the celebration of Vivekananda Day. He was famous for the “complete works of Swami Vivekananda’. The lecturer focused on the Vivekanandhar’s complete works. We had conducted Letter Blocks game and were distributed prizes and certificates for the winners.

On 14th April was the celebration of Ambedkar Jayanthi or Bhim Jayanthi day. His day was also celebrated as “Equality day”. On this day, we conducted a “ Sight words Bingo” game. Ten students participated in this game. We have distributed prizes and certificates for the winners
On 5th September, was the celebration of Dr. Radhakrishnan Day. His day was celebrated as Teacher’s Day. He was famous for Bharat Ratna Award. On this day, we conducted ‘Vocabulary word search’ game. Fifteen students participated in this game. We have distributed prizes and certificates for the students.

MAHAKAVI BHARATHIYAR DAY:
On Dec11, was the celebration of Subramania Bharathi Day. He was the greatest well-known tamil poet. The lecturer focused mainly on his great works of Tamil poetry. 8 students participated in the essay writing competition. We distributed the prizes and certificates for the students.
